DRIFTS FOR CASING & TUBING

Drifts are used for testing roundness of Casing & Tubing; making certain there are no Kinks, bends or flat places in the pipe. Drifts are used to ensure that the Drill pipes are of proper diameter throughout to run downhole tools. PAN can manufacture drifts as per customer specifications when requested.

Description

Casing and Tubing Drifts are used for testing the roundness of Tubing and Casing; verifying there are no dents, bends or flat areas that would prevent downhole tooling from passing through.

Drifting means measuring a pipe’s inner roundness. Drifting is typically performed by passing a cylindrical mandrel (Drift) through the length of the pipe to detect occlusions.

Our Drift mandrels are manufactured to API 5CT Specifications or, if the requirement is non-standard, we will make to our customers own specification.

Drifts are available in Steel, Aluminium, Teflon and Nylon in size ranging from 2-3/8”-20”.
